“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places.”
-Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms
Any life experience has the potential to alter us–and whether that alteration will be an adaptive response or a breakdown depends largely on what we do in the face of it. I am a traumatized person in the midst of a breakdown, determined to transform myself and my world for the better in the face of adversity.
Any yoga might be yoga for trauma recovery–but our chances of success are better when a practice is designed with our particular challenges in mind.
I am a seasoned, deeply intentional teacher with an intimate understanding of trauma response. I understand all the ways a public class can be triggering for traumatized people and create a context of security. We de-mystify and de-stigmatize the mechanics of our symptoms and work to soothe our overburdened nervous systems.
This work is not therapy, rather it’s a complementary supportive practice. Depending on the needs of my clients, we can work one on one or in small groups to grow stronger together.
