There’s no magic wand to make trauma disappear. But you can live a safer, more joyful life – even when it’s still a part of you.
I know it not only because I’ve worked in healing for 10+ years - but because I live it every day.
I feel both trauma and potential in my body and mind. Yet I’ve been able to grow my capacity to enjoy and experience life because I now have physical and emotional healing tools available to me.
Trauma hurts – and truthfully, some parts of it always will.
Yet I know firsthand, you can shift from pain to possibility. It takes the safe space, support, and steps that work best for you – ones that address not only your pain, but also tap into the evidence-based role that your body plays in your feelings and healing.
I’m Laura (she/they), and I know this to be true.
That’s why I founded Warrior Pose Yoga & Healing in 2012—
to hold space for you and all humans wanting to carve out a safer, better, more resilient path forward – especially when treatments like talk therapy, EMDR, and others haven’t brought you that peace.
As a multi-certified yoga teacher and somatic experiencing practitioner (SEP), I’ve spent more than a decade guiding thousands of people through inclusive, trauma-informed yoga and therapeutic bodywork. And I come to my work with you as a cis-ish, queer, white, able-bodied, neurodivergent human – honored to hold space and learn from the diverse perspectives of the folks I serve.
But you should also know how deeply personal this work is for me. I’m intimately familiar with the pain of relational trauma because it nearly killed me. I’ve been through hypervigilance, panic attacks, night terrors, flashbacks, and on the verge of suicide myself. Now, I know things that I couldn’t see from the depths of my own pain. And I’ve become well trained and practiced in helping to shift nervous systems from overwhelm to empowered potential.
Today, I can teach you how to use the same tools that have worked for me to carry my trauma well and move forward with my life - yoga for trauma recovery (SO much easier and more welcoming than a typical studio class!) and Somatic Experiencing (therapeutic bodywork sessions).
So while I can’t hand you a magic wand – maybe I can offer you a new compass and ways of moving towards a better, safer, and more resilient life?
Whether you try an online class, invite me to your organization, or explore bodywork sessions –
I’ll support you with the space and tools to grow your ability to experience the world around you as it is – far more wondrous, beautiful, and promising than your trauma may color it.
If you’re ready to make that shift, I’m here for you.
Let’s find your best next step together.
